Turn Your Beliefs into Rocket Fuel

Blog-header-construct

Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you’re right.
– Henry Ford

As Ford so correctly stated, your beliefs can limit or boost your potential. Whether you start off with “I don’t think I could do that”, or with “If it can be done, then I can do it”, that’s your choice; but it will impact directly in your potential, and consequently, in your results.

There is a cyclic relationship between beliefs, potential, action, and results.

Your beliefs control the way you tap into your potential; this potential will determine the intensity of your actions, your actions then will determine your results, and those results will add to your beliefs.

No matter the task at hand, you get what you expect.
Success breeds success, and failure breeds more failure.

If you expect failure, you limit yourself and what you can do right from the start, you’re telling your brain to expect failure, thus signaling your nervous system to respond in a certain way; you limit your potential by limiting your capability to take action – you won’t try hard enough…

You might say “I’ll try, but I don’t think it’s going to work”…
Forget about that, the “I’ll try” It’s the battle cry of the wimp.

Your actions will be uncertain, weak, incongruent, and hesitant, thus limiting your beliefs even more.

You limit your frame of reference, and you limit your ability to learn and grow and to realize your full potential.

It’s a classic downward spiral.

The opposite is also true. You can start with great expectations so w you e can amplify our ability to create great results; so instead of limiting yourself, you empower yourself.

When you believe with every beat of our heart that you will succeed, you tap into a good deal of potential, so you’re excited, energized, you’re full of high expectations; so your actions and results will be great too. Each success creates more belief and momentum to succeed on a greater scale each turn of the cycle!

That doesn’t mean you won’t screw up from time to time, but if you can learn to bounce back up every time, you would become more resourceful, and you will rig the game in our favor.

If you can maintain empowering belief systems no matter what, you will keep coming back with enough action and resourcefulness, eventually, you will succeed.

What is one challenge in your life where, if you chose to adopt a new belief about it, you could dramatically change your results?

Think about it…

The Fascinating Power of Self-Confidence

Blog-header-construct

Let’s talk about confidence.

Not as a memory of what it once used to be, but its current state. Let’s talk straight about it, objectively…

When was the last time you literally jumped out of bed in an exciting mood and made even Mondays tremble before your will power?

Now, think about the opposite; how about those times when you need to be splashed with a bucket of cold water to get you out of bed?

The way you feel on any given day is the direct result of your physiological state, your mental state, and even your emotional state.

When you recreate your stress and anxiety, you perpetuate a life of depression, so you end up believing that, no matter what you do, everything is going bad; and that whatever you might do, you will doing it wrong.

Your confidence will take a big hit, and with it, your Success/Doom cycle gets influenced.

Let me explain:

Every time you undertake any task in life, you go through a cycle in which you first tap into your Potential. Such Potential is limitless, but it gets easily influenced by our Beliefs; if you don’t believe something is going to work –let’s say you had a poor previous experience, how much of that Potential do you think you are going to tap? Probably not too much, right?

And you’re not going to feel so certain about it, and perhaps even a little fearful…

So, with that little Potential available for you at the time, are you going to take the required Massive Action on that matter?

Again, no.

So, with that little Potential, taking such a poor Action, what kind of Results are you going to get?

Lousy Results, most likely; and that Results in a way will come to “confirm” your Beliefs that “it’s not going to work”, so you’d probably go “see? I told you it wasn’t going to work”…

So the next time you need to start this Cycle, your Beliefs are even more negative, and there you go again, spiraling down and down.

Here’s the good news: this Cycle works the other way as well.

If you consistently feel gratitude, joy, contentment, and love, you’re directly affecting your Beliefs, moving your life into an amazing, positive state in which nothing really bothers you.
You tap purely into your Potential because, hey! You can make anything happen!

You move through your day with purpose, taking Massive Action to complete your tasks with enthusiasm, thus, creating extraordinary results –which can be either the achievement of goals or the learning experience of valuable life lessons.

This is the way you create an outstanding self-confidence.
When you’re in control of your emotions, you influence your actions directly.
When you’re fueled by a sense of well-being, and trust, you radiate calm and happiness; and those around you can feel it and will react to it accordingly.

Confidence is not something you’re born with or just happens to have, it’s something you create.

It is the feeling of certainty that you can accomplish whatever you set out to do.

Like any other emotion or skill, all you need is to train yourself, so you can access it and use it to your advantage at will.

Practice tapping into confidence more and more each day, and begin to believe in yourself.

Decide today that you’re going to be more confident, and positive and you’ll have no other choice but to succeed.

Stay strong!

Plug into your Decision-Making Power

Blog-header-construct

We make decisions every moment, day after day. Mostly these decisions are small and inconsequential, but sometimes they are life-changing events.

Ultimately, the outcome of your days, your years, and your entire life are mostly defined by the sum of your decisions, and the following actions you take every step of the way.

There is a lot of power in making a decision, any decision; even those you take when you’re not completely sure that it’s the right one. Once you realize the overwhelming impact that making decisions can have, you will definitely start to live the best part of your life.

But that doesn’t make it any easier, right?

There’s a fun saying that goes: “the road of life is paved with flat squirrels who couldn’t make a decision.”

We tend to get paralyzed at some point, like the squirrel on the road in front of a pair of headlights; and knowing upfront the impact our decisions can have doesn’t make the fear go away. What if we make the wrong one? How would that affect our lives?

You might think then “so, I’d better not take any decision at all”… but that is also a decision –and a very bad one; one that also holds the power to create quite a mess.

The inability to make a decision can leave you frozen in place when changes are necessary. It can also devastate your confidence, your happiness, and your overall emotional well-being.

Any decision is better than no decision at all.

Push past the fear and doubts, and start taking control over your life’s outcomes; make decisions quickly, take action steps immediately, and visualize the end result you’re looking for.

Commit to a decision, follow through, and you can set yourself up for success every time.

Stay strong.

Stay on Top of Your Game

Blog-header-construct

A life of success and fulfillment doesn’t happen overnight, it builds on our everyday actions and decisions. In the long run, success comes down to grit, a strong start, organization, and consistency.

The following are 9 tips you may want to consider in order to stay ahead and develop yourself into the leading force of your own success.

1. Get things started now

Starting strong helps you coast to the finish line with less stress than starting slow and agonizing over whether you will make your numbers or meet your goals.

2. Holidays can wait

Always put responsibilities first. Stop putting off what needs to get done. Procrastination only robs you of the time you desire for leisure activities. Remember why you chose your career and what’s required to stand out amongst the best.

3. Perfection is not the name of the game

Business is not designed to be clear, easy or perfect. If you have been giving it all you’ve got, whatever mistakes you make are necessary and perfectly fine as learning experiences. The more mistakes you make, the more you grow, the more you develop your knowledge and expertise.

4. Make time for fun

If your life is all work and no play, you will not have the necessary space from your career to actually enjoy it. You need personal time to gain perspective on the benefits of what you do each day and to stay connected to the reasons that drive you to achieve. Enjoy the ride.

5. Work is not an end

Work isn’t where the fun ends, it’s where all of your new, important adventures begin. There is so much ahead of you that will expand your life. Each step along the way opens new doors of opportunity, which enrich your life in immeasurable ways.

6. Get into the game

If your life is boring, you’re doing something wrong. Always seek ways to get involved — join groups, build networks, go to the gym, or attend church. Network within your own industry by attending as many in-person events/dinners as possible.

7. Say yes

Each day brings a new opportunity. Say yes to new things that take you outside your comfort zone. Say yes to your personal growth by choosing to do the exact things you fear. Train yourself to risk, and to risk again.

8. Be realistic

You cannot be successful if you consistently feel you’re not measuring up because you don’t have enough time or the skills developed to be who you want to be. You will burnout under this pressure. Learn to succeed one imperfect step at a time.

9. Take care of yourself

You must be physically, emotionally and mentally sound to have the energy and brainpower necessary to be as successful as you desire to be; eat clean, get enough sleep, drink water, exercise and take a day off here and there just to relax. You cannot succeed at the expense of your own health.

Take a look at your day now, and see how you can improve it by putting these tips into practice; work on them for a while, and then come back here and tell us about your experience… I bet you’ll have great things to share!

Invite Opportunity into Your Life

headertxt

Every day there’s opportunity surrounding us, especially in the summertime; plants blooming, and everything is coming into its fullness… New life is everywhere.
This is a powerful time to tune into the Universe’s abundance and invite it into our life.

Whether it is an improvement in our professional life that brings in more wealth or a new or renewed relationship that fills our life with bliss; there’s no downside to opening ourselves up to what life has in store.

Here are four ways to open our doors to opportunity into our lives:

1. Cultivate an abundance mindset

For many of us, having enough never feels like enough because we live with a scarcity mindset. When we live our lives in constant worry that the well is about to run dry, we tend to create a self-fulfilling prophecy, and even if that never happens, we produce a lot of unnecessary anxiety.

We need to be able to start each morning with a state of mind that cultivates abundance; reassure ourselves in the great things we already have, and be sure that more and better things are on their way.

2. Clear our minds and our schedule

We live in a culture that glorifies busy and productive and leaves little room for quiet exploration of self. But those moments of solitude are exactly what you need; if you are hyper-focused on staying busy, opportunities will pass you by. You need breathing room to explore what you really want, and clearing your mind and opening your schedule will allow you to make room for the opportunity you most desire into your life.

3. Practice Gratitude

We need to thank people for sharing their time, their expertise and their experience with us, whether with a handwritten note or an email. Let’s thank people who have influenced our growth; people who have shown up for us during hard times in our life. The act of writing down our gratitude and literally sending it out into the world will help invite opportunity our way.

It also reminds us to live in a state of gratitude and abundance. Showing our appreciation and interest in others will bring both giver and receiver a tremendous boost in happiness.

4. Get curious

Why do we stop being curious about our world and ourselves? Remember your childhood and how much the world opened up because of it?
Opportunity loves growth, so if we’re doing different things, thinking differently and pursuing a wide variety of new goals regularly, chances are the world would be opening its doors to us.

Let’s allow ourselves to be curious, pursue our real interests, and lean into learning more about ourselves.

Our job as human beings is to grow and share; and in doing so, we will attract opportunity into our lives.

Clarity Really IS Power

blog-banners

If you want to leverage the real power of clarity, you need to be specific about what you want and build your outcome around a significant way of measurement.

Let’s assume you want to make more money this year, and you ended up earning 10 extra dollars… technically, you’ve achieved your goal, I mean, you earned “more” money this year; but I doubt that was your idea when you set that goal, right? The difference was probably more in the area of the tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands.

You always want to set a clear goal for yourself, always.

If you are specific with your outcome and have a clear picture of what it is and why do you want it, your actions will be like a big, sharp telephoto lens that will achieve them.

Now, following the precepts we established in the previous articles, you know you need to be working toward your core values, and follow your personal rules in the process… so, how can you be sure?

Make a core values audit:

Keep a close track of your activities for two weeks, take note of which values your actions are connecting with, and evaluate yourself as you move closer to your goals.

Once you have several weeks of progress written down, take a thorough look at how you’ve spent your time; highlight any activity that you know is unconnected to your values and goals –like checking social media every other hour- and take it out from your schedule. Replace them with something else that can contribute to your ultimate plan.

After a while putting this procedure into practice, you’ll notice you don’t miss all those time-consuming tasks anymore.

Next week we’ll be talking about how to minimize distractions by, among other things, learning to say NO.

Until then, stay strong!

Maximize Results with Effective Time Management

blog-banners

Suppose you want to strengthen your relationship with your kids, so you decide to use one or two hours out of your day to give them the time and attention they deserve; but as you’re playing with them, your phone rings in your pocket…

Naturally, you automatically take it out to see who called or texted you. You’d probably even call or text back and before you know it, you’d have a conversation going.

By shifting your attention to your phone (or to the TV, or some similar source of daily distractions) you’re directing your attention and energy away from your kids, and you are no longer working toward the outcome you’ve set initially; one that really matters to you, which is a healthier, more loving relationship with your kids.

What if instead of checking your phone, you stayed committed to your intended outcome and gave your kids the attention they deserve? By staying focused on your target, and letting the phone wait for one or two hours –nobody is going to die, and the world is not going to end because of it- you will be more successful attaining your goal, and that speaks the most to your core values.

Aligning your actions with your core values is about having clarity on what these values are. What is it that you truly want? How can you accomplish this by using your favorite time management skills?

Whatever your goal is, you have to be clear with the outcome you are after and establish the time required to achieve it; it could be a deadline or a certain amount of time you’re taking daily what gets the job done… but either way, be realistic –not extremely shy or too eagerly optimistic- set the timing in a proportional way depending on the goal you’re setting.

All this takes us to our following article, which talks about clarity in your goals.

See you next week. Stay strong.
